Day one of the program is all about laying the foundation for your marketing strategy so you can hit the ground running.

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of your business’ purpose, values, and positioning as you refine your brand identity.
  • Align your marketing and business goals in an exercise that will help you achieve those goals faster and more effectively.
  • Deep dive into your ideal audience using the different areas of segmentation so you know exactly who you should be talking to.

Once the foundation has been laid, it’s time to observe and analyze the landscape, though, we’re not talking about lakes, rivers, and mountains here. In this context, the landscape refers to who else is out there (your competitors) and what is going on in the world/your market/industry that could potentially impact your business. Sort of like a SWOT, but we make it a lot cooler.


Brand Identity. In the opening module, you will establish your brand image, voice and tone. You will determine your business's core values and purpose and learn how to let them steer your marketing efforts. Expect to understand your business on an entirely new level.

Goal Setting. Review your business goals, sharpen them if needed and prioritize them. You will learn the importance of aligning your business goals with your marketing goals. Expect to set at least three marketing goals that will help you achieve your business goals.

Audience Personas. Determine who your ideal customer is and learn how to use segmentation techniques to create detailed audience personas so you can tailor your marketing perfectly for them.

Competitive Intelligence. Learn how to analyze the competitive landscape, allowing you to identify opportunities and potential obstacles. Expect to gain a clear picture of your competitors and their marketing efforts.

Obstacles and Opportunities. Assess the potential obstacles and opportunities for your business. Learn how to mitigate risk and capitalize on opportunities. Expect to identify a few opportunities to take advantage of in the coming months.


Day two is about identifying the marketing tactics available to you and developing an understanding of how different tactics can work towards helping you achieve your goals.

Gone are the days when you could expect a customer to learn about you or hear from you one time before making a purchase. We (as humans in society) want to be nurtured a whole lot more than that before we’re ready to make a purchase. This is especially true for high-consideration purchases. By understanding the needs of your customers and the journey they take on their way to a purchase decision, you can design a marketing strategy that supports them every step of the way.

Finally, you’ll put the finishing touches on the strategic marketing plan you’ve been building so you know exactly where you’re going and how to get there. This is your marketing strategy in action!


Marketing Tactics. The opening module of the day does a deep dive into all of the marketing and communication tactics, touchpoints and tricks available in the current marketing landscape. Expect to leave with a shortlist of new tactics you are excited to try.

Customer Journey. Learn about the different phases of the customer journey and how they can be used to support your business goals or when launching something new. Expect to map your customers’ journey, identify any holes or missed opportunities and remove any redundancies or inefficiencies.

Tactics Meet Journey. Learn which marketing tactics are commonly used during each phase of the customer journey. You will identify the tactics currently in use by your business and determine if they are being executed in the correct phase of the customers’ journey. Expect to adjust current tactics and identify opportunities to use new tactics.

Content Strategy. Determine your content needs based on your customers’ journeys and the tactics you’ve selected. You will learn the concept of anchor content and determine your anchor channels.

Putting the Pieces Together. In the last module of the program, you will finalize all parts of your Marketing Strategy. You will create an Implementation Plan that outlines the next steps, priorities and any important dates.
